Earlier this month, the STAR Awards for Greatness and Excellence were held. The annual event, which is run by the Bend Chamber of Commerce, showcases and celebrates the very best that Central Oregon has to offer. This year, the inaugural “Lifetime Achievement Award” was given to Roger Lee, the Executive Director of Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO). Roger beat out over 50 other nominees that were made up of Bend Chamber members. Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty would like to offer our congratulations to Roger and thank him for all he has done for Central Oregon.
The Photography of Thomas Chavalia – First Thursday
First Thursday, at Cascade Sotheby’s Realty’s Pearl District office (1321 NW Hoyt Street), will feature the work of Thomas Chavalia, from 5:00-7:00 PM on May 7th. Learning about fine arts from his older sister, Thomas’ technique was developed through a process of trial and error, while traveling through the US and Europe. With a focus on “forgotten America”, Chavalia’s photography often depicts urban decay from coast to coast. Residing in Portland, Oregon since 2011, Thomas pursues his love of art, while drawing attention to the beauty and sadness of disrepair through a camera lens.
